This year ABGO held our Australia Day Celebrations on 26 February 2020 at Novotel Muscat Hotel.

The Acting Deputy Ambassador, Ms Melissa Kelly, represented the Ambassador of Oman, HE Ridwaan Jadwat, at the function. Other dignatories included the Australian Honorary Consul, Mr Mustafa Ahmed Salman; the Commanding Officer of HMAS Toowoomba, CMDR Mitchell Livingstone, CSC; and the Defence Attache at the Australian Embassy, Group Captain Ralph Kettle.

The event attracted more than 120 guests, with a large representation of Omani alumni who studied in Australia. On the night the Australian Embassy kindly offered free ABGO membership for all Omani alumni.

This offer for Omani Young Professionals has been extended for the whole of 2020. This is an opportunity for the alumni to develop business and trade links between Australia and Oman.
